What do participant's wear to gymnastics classes?

Participants need to wear clothing that doesn't restrict their movement so anything like t-shirt, shorts/leggings or joggers and leotard would be ideal. Nothing with zips or hoods,  No socks (we suggest wearing slide on shoes in case they need to leave the hall and walk to the toilets) long hair must be tied up for safety purposes, no jewellery, body piercing or adornments of any kind are permitted, If ears are recently pierced they must be covered up with tape.

What do participant's need to bring with them?

Please make sure participants bring a labelled water bottle with them to every class and tape for earrings if earrings can't be taken out.

What is IGA Membership?

This is required for all of our services, Go Head Over Heels Gymnastics Club is affiliated to IGA - the UK Governing body for Gymnastics. Therefore, all participants must pay to become a member of IGs for insurance cover, discounts and other member benefits. Participation is strictly prohibited if your child does not have IGA Membership. This must be renewed every year in September/October.

Will I be required to purchased a Club Membership?

There is no membership fee at our club. Unlike other clubs we simply charge for the cost of the lessons and ask that you become a member of IGA.

Are parent's allowed to come into the hall and watch the class?

No parents are permitted in the hall unless it is a Parent and Tot class or you have been invited in for our watching week which takes part at the end of every full term, this is for insurance purposes. You must make sure the club has your current contact number incase you are needed.

How do we compare to the more established clubs?

We are a small club which means our class sizes are smaller than they would be in a bigger club.  Only one class will running at a time so each class gets the full use of the hall and equipment.

Will you be badge testing or handing out awards?

We will be giving out award certificates at the end of each term which will be presented at our watching week. These will be designed and awarded for certain skills associated to each award.

Does my child have to have experience to attend one of our classes?

Absolutely not, we are here to help coach all gymnasts.
